Great ways to sit! a Wonderful design collection for 2011

Sedes Regia

Sedes Regia
Noticed the Sedes Regia booth at ICFF because of a giant seat that looked like something off the set of the movie Aliens. In fact, it’s called the Alien sofa. Designed by Jonas Jurgaitis, Alien is actually quite comfortable and has a flat area in the middle to rest your drink.

In addition to Alien, I also had the pleasure of sitting on Ops (also by Jonas Jurgaitis), which is a chair and a rocker in one. The chair is easily customizable and changeable. I have to say, this was the most comfortable thing I sat on in the entire show and after a long day on my feet, I really didn’t want to get out of it.

The sofa and lounge chairs are a great combination, or two sofas, depending on the seating needs. From all angles, the chair looks sophisticated and streamlined. gourgous

This is a future I like...inspired by "Minority Report"

Immersive Digital Experiences

Imagine a digital experience that is intuitive and holistic, where your interface is not reduced to a mouse click and two-dimensional analog of a writing desk. A surround display dome complemented by the sophisticated motion-sensing software that inspired the technology depicted in the film ‘Minority Report’. With natural, intuitive movements, your entire body becomes the interface.

Imagine instead of a screen, a visual-audio environment that envelops you. Recreating the three-dimensional space we perceive in our everyday lives. Where work and play become more concentrated and enjoyable and allow one to depart on journeys you never thought possible. This is the promise of the Immersive Cocoon, a concept study for an advanced digital environment.
