iOS-update voor batterijproblemen onderweg, brengt multitasking gestures terug

Apple heeft laten weten binnenkort een update voor iOS 5 uit te brengen. De voornaamste reden hierachter zijn de batterijproblemen waar “een klein aantal iOS 5-gebruikers” sinds de lancering van iOS 5 last van heeft. In de bèta-versie die Apple van de nieuwe versie heeft uitgebracht zijn ook de multitasking gestures op de iPad 1 weer te vinden. Deze functionaliteit was in de eindversie van iOS 5 uitgeschakeld voor de eerste generatie iPad. iPad

Apple komt met software-update voor batterijproblemen iOS 5

Apple komt binnenkort met een software-update om enkele problemen in iOS 5 op te lossen. Dit liet het bedrijf vanavond in een officiële reactie weten aan AllThingsD. Volgens Apple bevat de iOS 5-software enkele problemen die ertoe leiden dat de accuduur van ‘sommige iPhone-gebruikers’ niet aan de verwachtingen voldoet. De update zou binnen enkele weken worden uitgebracht, aldus Apple. iPhone

Duracell Instant-Oplader: reservebatterij voor IPhone en andere smartphones (actie)

Duracell heeft een nieuwe oplader uitgebracht, waarmee je smartphones, multimediaspelers en allerlei andere kleine apparaatjes kunt opladen. Eerder maakte Duracell voor de iPhone 4 een speciale batterij, die je onderop het toestel moest steken. Maar die had een relatief kleine oplaadcapaciteit (500 mAh). De Duracell Instant-Oplader die ze sinds kort op de markt brengen, heeft een zwaardere batterij (1150 mAh) en is qua prijs iets goedkoper. Rond de 20 euro betaal je voor deze reservebatterij. iPhone

Nederlandse Apple Store begint met verzenden van losse IPhone 4S

Apple Nederland is begonnen met het verzenden van losse exemplaren van de iPhone 4S. Mensen die hun iPhone 4S via de Apple Store hadden besteld, kunnen dit herkennen aan een statuswijziging in hun bestelling. Lange tijd stonden de bestellingen op ‘Artikelen worden verwerkt’, maar vandaag veranderde die status voor veel mensen in ‘Verzending wordt voorbereid’. iPhone

IPhone 4S lanceert op 11 november in 15 andere landen

Apple heeft zojuist bekendgemaakt dat de iPhone 4S op 11 november ook verkocht zal worden in 15 andere landen, waaronder Hong Kong en Zuid-Korea. Pre-orders zullen daar vanaf vrijdag 4 november aangenomen worden. Apple zegt dat de iPhone in meer dan zeventig landen beschikbaar zal zijn voordat het jaar voorbij is. iPhone

Tank Case voor iPhone 4 en IPhone 4S geïnspireerd door motorhelmen

Een iPhone-case, geïnspireerd door motorhelmen. Dat is de Tank Case van fabrikant Case-Mate. Hij bestaat uit hard en breukbestendig polycarbonaat met aan de binnenkant een schokabsorberend siliconenlaagje. Net als bij een helm kun je bij deze case het vizier dichtschuiven, door een extra beschermlaag over het scherm te schuiven. Zo is je iPhone-scherm niet alleen beschermd tegen krassen, maar ook tegen condensatie en damp. Zelfs je knoppen zijn beschermd, waarbij je door de case heen op de juiste plekken moet drukken om bijvoorbeeld de homeknop of de volumeknoppen te activeren. iPhone

Two Apps from Taschen this week

At the moment, Taschen released two IPad apps. Showing us they do connect with the time and are not afraid of change. Earleyer on they released some of their publications as an iPhone app already. Don't worry, lovers of traditional Taschen books have nothing to fear in the coming years, the books are still seen as their most important work. Obviously, both the apps for the iPhone and the new apps beautifully designed, as we are used to by Taschen.

The first app that they have released for the iPhone is and I'm introducing you to is; "Yes is more! An Archicomic on Architectural Evolution by BIG”. This is an architectural manifesto of the Copenhagen-based group BIG. That's told in the form of a comic book. This app is a edition of a already published book, but this digital version has added three additional chapters with recently developed projects. In addition, the app version holds 25 videos and 360 images of the buildings. This app costs € 7.99 on iTunes.

The second app is the digital edition of the "Taschen magazine with in this issue (Fall/Winter 2010). This are all the books from that period. Titles that are discussed in this edition include 75 Years of DCComics and Neo Rauch. Books that you see, you can automatically add to your shopping list.
